    1. Goodrich Family Association
    2. At long last we are reactivating the GFA we started in 1984. We welcome all who are interested. Rather than just a list of names we have gleaned biographical data from thousands of sources. We are investigating the formation of a non-profit memorial association to continue our work and to make print on demand books available for individual members. We are also planning to reprint the quarterly newsletters; updating the format to reflect latest PC capabilities and then continuing with regular issues. This will take some time and input from members will be added to our data base. Our records include 10 immigrants that arrived from England between 1635 and 1640, plus bits and pieces of later immigrants from several countries. Inquires, comments, suggestions and offers of participation welcomed at _gwfgood@aol.com_ (mailto:gwfgood@aol.com) This message board will also be checked regularly.

    1. 1950 Goodrich family history book on ebay
    2. Jim
    3. FYI: I found an old family history book with the Goodrich-Watkins-Carey families in it. Seems that it might be quite rare. Hope it finds a good home and not in the hands of a collector. “A Great-Grandmother and Her People” by Percy E. and Calvin Goodrich ~Privately Printed 1950~ Some names are on the page as well as photos of the book. I have purchased several family histories from them and can say they are very reliable and fast shippers too. The url is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dllViewItem&rd=1&item=5553432286 Or you can go to www.ebay.com and search for item number: 5553432286 Hope it helps, Jim

My g-g-gfather was Samuel Goodwin b. 1785 in SC lived in Richmond County, NC in the 1820's through 1850 and in Marlboro County, SC near Bennettsville until he died there in 1872. My g-gfather and siblings went to MS by 1854, I live in TX; I have found a Will that I think might be my Samuel's family, but no proof as yet. A youngest son Samuel is listed with 10 other children. 1. Louis Goodrich married to Oziel WIlcox 10 Oct 1782
    2. shindell
    3. Hello – I have had a brick wall in my family line for awhile, but then happened upon something today that make me think. Please let me know if anyone can either help or disprove this theory. My ancestor Louis Goodrich was married to Oziel Wilcox (born August 10, 1759 in Killingworth, Connecticut; died March 27, 1787 in Sheffield, Berkshire, Co., MA) they were married October 10, 1782. They had at least one son – Ozial Wilcox; born 1774. Oziel was killed at Sheffield, Mass. on October 10th, 1787, defending the State of Mass. against the abortive Shay's Rebellion in which his own brother Peter, Jr. took an active part. Oziel is said to have left two or three small children behind when he was killed. What became of these children in not known, possibly they were reared by the mother's family. Oziel’s father was Peter Wilcox, He was known as "Ensign Peter", the reason for this title is unknown, He and his family removed to Lee, Mass. before the Revolutionary War. He was the town constable for many years and it is said the the first town meeting was held in his house. THIS Is what I found today that was so interesting… Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution, 17 Vols. Volume 17 page 322 Wilcocks, Peter.Ensign; list of men who marched from Berkshire Co. April 23, 1775, under command of Capt. William Goodrich but who did not enlist into the army, dated Stockbridge, Dec. 22, 1775; left place of rendezvous May 2, 1775; service, 16 ½ days. It made me think - HMM… Is my Louis Goodrich related to Captain William Goodrich, who her father-in-law served with??? Could this be a father, brother, uncle? ANY help would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you, Margi Shindell Atlanta, Georgia
