    1. Professor Max Goodrich
    2. Matt Goodrich
    3. Max was born on 11 Dec 1905 in Calhoun, Henry County, Missouri to Henry Charles and Elma A. (Shafer) Goodrich. He was a professor of Physics at LSU in Baton Rouge beginning in 1936 and was Dean of the Graduate school there between 1961 and 1973 when he retired. He passed away on 19 Sep. 1999 in East Lansing, Michigan. This wonderful man was my Grand-Uncle. It is because of him that am researching my family history. Over the years he had done quite a bit of work on both his paternal and maternal lines. I came into possession of copies of many of Max's charts, FGS, and notes, and was bit by the bug immediately. My main reason for writing this is that I am hoping one of his daughters is also into genealogy and sees this message. Lee Ann or Marna, if you see this please contact me. You have a 1C1R who would like to speak with you! Matt Goodrich genealogy@4dv.net

    2. MGHodge
    3. My ancestor, Giles Goodrich b. 1755 Middletown CT, is the son of Joshua Goodrich, (not Gershom as some other books apparently say. The reference is the following book: Title:The Bulkeley genealogy : Rev. Peter Bulkeley, being an account of his career, his ancestry, the ancestry of his two wives, and his relatives in England and New England, together with a genealogy of his descendants through the seventh American generation Author: Jacobus, Donald Lines, City of Publication:New Haven, Conn. Publisher:unknown Date:1933 Has anyone research Joshua and Hannah Bliss? I only recently was able to find support for my link, and plan to start writing for documentation -- presumably in Middletown CT (which I understand is now East Hampton). Thanks for any leads! Maggie

    1. Looking for Rick Nettesheim concerning line of Josiah L. Goodrich
    2. mgoodrich
    3. On 17 Mar 2002 Rick Nettesheim posted the following in the Goodrich Surname board at Ancestory.com E-mail sent to listed address below bounced. "I'm a direct descendant of the Goodrich line & trying to trace this line as far back as I can but have run into a few questions I was hoping anyone could help me with. I have found 2 different versions of "the same" line, neither of which states their source information, so I don't know which is correct. I was hoping someone might know, and or have even more information they would be willing to share. Anyways, here's what I've found: 1. My g-g-g-g-grandfather was Josiah L. Goodrich (b. 9 Jun 1813, m. Orinda Mattoon) 2. His father was Josiah Goodrich (b. 2 Sep 1789, m. Hepsibath Lovewell) 3. His father was David Goodrich (b. 8 May 1748, m .Rebella Simonds) 4. His father was Josiah Goodrich (b. 22 Aug 1717, m. Grace Grant on 7 Nov 1739) 5. His father was Josiah Goodrich (b. 15 Jun 1690, m. Sarah Porter on 5 Dec 1711) 6. His father was David Goodrich (b. 4 May 1667, m. Hannah Wright on 7 Mar 1689) 7. His father was William Ephram Goodrich (b. 13 Feb 1621, m. Sarah Marvin on 4 Oct 1648) Here is where the info gets a bit muddled. One line continues on as follows: 8a. His father was Richard Goodrich (of Ribston - High Sheriff of Yorkshire from 1580-1592, m. Muriel Evans) 9a. His father was Richard Goodrich (b. 1510, m. Clara Conyers) 10a. His father was Henry Goodrich (b. 1487, m. Margaret Rawson in 1508) 11a. His father was Edward Goodrich (baronet, m. Jane Williamson in about 1465) 12a. His father was John Goodrich On the other hand, the Ancestral File at familysearch.org gives the remainder of the line as follows: 8b. His father was John Goodrich (b. 1587, m. Margerie Howe on 7 Aug 1615) 9b. His father was William Goodrich (b. 1555, m. Margaret Richardson on 24 Oct 1568) 10b. His father was Richard Goodrich (b. about 1520, m. ?? about 1524) Does anyone know of any source information indicating which one is correct? If not, could you refer me to someone who might? The jump from 7 - 9a is 90 years and although this is possible, it seems unlikely. I'm wondering if 8b - 10b is filling in the apparent gap between 7 - 9a. Any thoughts? I'm also looking for as many descendant of this line as possible. If anyone happens to have any of this kind of information and would be willing to share, I'd be most appreciative. Finally, on the message board, I've seen a book called "The Goodrich Family" mentioned a few times. Would anyone happen to know where I might get a copy of this book? Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Rick Nettesheim (netty@bigfoot.com)" Rick, I was wondering if you ever sorted this out? I too am a direct descendant of this line. My G-G-Grandfather was Josiah Goodrich (b. 2 Sep 1789, m. Hepsibath Lovewell) My G-Grandfather was Ezekiel Simonds Goodrich, brother of your Josiah L., (b. 23 October 1818, m. Lucinda Goodrich 30 December 1852 in Wisconsin) They were 1st cousins once removed. Also I happen to have a copy of the Goodrich Family in America by L.W. Case and I would be happy to do lookups for you. I can also give you a better picture of the line between myself and Josiah if you would like. Any info you can pass on would be greatly appreciated. I hope this e-mail finds you and yours well. Sincerely, Matthew Goodrich

    1. Franklin B. Goodrich
    2. Susan J. Goodrich
    3. Am looking for any info I can get on Franklin B. Goodrich who lived in Concord, NH in the late 1800's and early 1900's. He married Mary (Minnie) Abbott who was half Indian and died of cancer in 1917 in Concord. They had 4 sons: Lee, Leo, Leon, and LeRoy (my father-in-law). Mary had been very wealthy and the wealth was to be split between the boys upon her death. Unfortunately, it was all gone by the time she died. LeRoy left New Hampshire shortly after Mary's death and hitch-hiked (working) his way to Medina, Orleans County, NY where he met and married Beatrice Pike, daughter of Joseph Pike and Charlotte L'Hommedieu. Thanks everyone, Susan Goodrich sue2003@lakeplains.net

    1. GOODRICH FAMILY ASSOCIATION
    2. Hi, At long last we are reactivating the GFA we started in 1984. We welcome all who are interested. Rather than just a list of names we have gleaned biographical data from thousands of sources. We are investigating the formation of a non-profit memorial association to continue our work and to make print on demand books available for individual members. We are also planning to reprint the quarterly newsletters; updating the format to reflect latest PC capabilities and then continuing with regular issues. This will take some time and input from members will be added to our data base. Our records include 10 immigrants that arrived from England between 1635 and 1640, plus bits and pieces of later immigrants from several countries. Inquires, comments, suggestions and offers of participation welcomed at _gwfgood@aol.com_ (mailto:gwfgood@aol.com) Phone is: 815-788-8781 One need is transcribing handwritten family group sheets to computer files. If we can get enough people, it can be done rapidly and won't put too much on any one person. Let me know if you are still interested. Cordially, George Farrell

    3. I had posted this information in 2002 without any results, but thought I'd try again as there may be new members to the list. I have a picture of a young woman that I "rescued " from an antique shop on the Oregon coast. The picture measures 4 inches in height & 2 1/2 inches wide. It is in septa tone. It was taken at G.W. Barnes studio in ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS. She looks to be in her late teens to her mid. twenties. Written on the back is " EVA GOODRICH, Aunt CYNTHIA CAMPBELL'S daughter." From the hair & dress style I would guess that the picture was taken in the late 1800's. Although, I have enjoyed her company, if this lovely young lady belongs to your family, I would be glad to send her home.
