    3. Where did any of them go after leaving IL? Gae dbld118@aol.com wrote: Here goes... looking for a Samuel (we think) Goodrich. Landed in Moline ILL about 1910. Had two sons, with Della (var.) Conner (var.) Emery and William George (my grandfather). He worked at an ironworks factory in Moline. We don't know where Samuel came from, who his parents were. There were other Goodrich's in the area, but not sure how and if he was connected to them. He may have been married and had another family. When my great grandmother Della died in 1918 of influenza, he came back after a long absence to claim boys, and sent them to work in onion fields. Boys eventually broke away and went to live with their mothers sister Amanda. Boys were born Conner, but when the boys were small g-gm re-registered their births with last name of Goodrich, and moved year of birth by 2 years. Grandfather William was 2 years older than he thought he was. Here's to hoping that there is someone out there that might have a lead on this slippery bugger.... 3. THOMAS GOODRICH b. circa 1803, who married REBECCA CALLISON of VA, is my brick wall. They appear in VA, KY, and MO in Lafayette, Boone & Johnson Counties. I'd like to find a marriage document or birth doc for THOMAS whose death certificate is also missing but who is listed on other death certificates as being "of KY". If that is true, how did he meet his "VA" bride whose family is well documented in VA? If I could discover who his siblings were I'd know how to proceed. Thanks for calling the roll! We have a list membership of 120 people. Among those, surely we have some undiscovered relatives. :-) Here's how we'll do this particular Roll Call. List one name per e-mail or one couple or family per e-mail. Please do not list three to four generations. That gets a little hard to follow especially for those in plain text Digest Mode. Remember to place the name you're researching in the Subject line of your e-mail. That will make it easier for those that browse their list mail. Also mention any ancestor you're having a difficult time finding. Maybe the answer lies among the membership of this list. Its always nice to crumble a brick wall or two. :-) Please be brief in your list queries. Happy hunting! 1. [GOODRICH] I have names and DOB for children of Giles GOODRICH b. 1755
    2. M Hodge
    3. This is not exactly answering the roll call -- but perhaps it will get some juices flowing -- Our family had a major brick wall linking to Giles Goodrich, b. Jan 10, 1755 in Middletown twp., Middlesex County, CT. I received a family record which may date from around 1855 - I believe it must have been copied from an old family Bible. I know that the Goodrich genealogies that I have looked at dead-end with Giles Goodrich marrying Hannah Stanclift (in the Chase Book). Also, the Stanclift genealogy did not have any descendents from this marriage. Here is what I know about this marriage. I believe that most, if not all, of the family moved from CT to Onondaga County NY between 1800 and 1810 (Manlius and Cicero area) Hannah Stanclift Goodrich died 1830 Children of GILES GOODRICH and HANNAH STANCLIFT were: ELIZUR b Dec. 28, 1778 m. Modena Bassett in CT - that family was in Byron area of Genesee County, NY in 1820, and Modena was still there in 1830. Their son, PHILO GOODRICH, is my GG Grandfather. Luther, b 1775 Giles (Jr) b Jan 12, 1777 -- I did hear from one of his descendants a couple of years ago. I believe he went to Orange County, NY Hannah b May 13, 1783 - died young Erastus b Feb 25, 1787 Carisa b. Mar 7, 1789 Hannah b. May? 5, 1791 The support of the Goodrich group was critical to my getting the proof of my ancestry! Thanks! Maggie Goodrich Hodge

Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.goodrich/611.4/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I, too, have done some more research into the obscure Silas. The book, "The Fate of the Corps" by Larry E. Morris provides one or two more clues, but they too, lead nowhere. We know that Silas, George Gibson and Hugh McNeal are all treated with Mercury for syphillis, which is lethal. We know that all three men are listed as dead between 1825-1828. The book also states that Silas and Hugh Hall petition Congress in 1807 to grant them their land warrants close to their homes in the the Indiana Territory close to the Missouri river. One source I read states that Silas possibly settles down and marries in this area. I searched many of the census records for the area and time periods to no avail. I also noticed in the book that Hugh Hall had returned back to Washington County Pennsylvania by 1820, which interestingly, is where my Goodrich branch had lived for a bit, even have several born there before they move to Ohio/Indiana. I have wondered if Silas moved to the area. ! Prior to the Civil War, Washington County PA did not keep records of births nor deaths which has impeded most of my research. So Silas still remains elusive Michelle

In Pennsylvania he called himself "Jack Goodrich", but at home, Nashville, Brown Co IN, he used his real name, William Williams. He died in Allentown, PA 20 Mar 1939 and was buried in Nashville. When and where did they marry? What happened to her after 1939? While they had no children, perhaps a descendant of one of her siblings could help me.
