Did Asa have any more sons besides Isaac? I am researching Ambert (Amy or Ama) Goodrich, born after the 1860 census to Lovet A. I have copies of an indenture (August 12th 1851) between Peter and Jane Ent and "Asa Goodrich", over a piece of land. At the end of the document it states: "the above Asa Goodrich is not to sell the above land without the consent of Margaret Goodrich, his wife". Asa was her 2nd husband. 2) I believe Asa was 10 years younger than wife Margaret Ent Minteer Goodrich (born PA 1811 - died Washington State ). He was her 2nd husband. In the 1850 census Margaret is listed as age 38 and Asa Goodrich is listed with them with an age of 28, which may be a typo. 3) Asa and Margaret may have divorced when Isaac was young because Asa appears later in Indiana with a wife name Rachel Goodrich. There was another Andrew County Missouri indenture (26th of January 1860) witnessing that "Asa Goodrich "and Rachel Goodrich, his wife" of Marshall County Indiana conveyed and quit claim to Joseph Ent of Andrew County" (It appears to be the same land as in the above mentioned document and Margaret's name is also mentioned in the doc.) I am having problems finding any information on Andrew Goodrich. I believe his father was Gideon Goodrich but I don't have any documents stating this..Just word of mouth.. Andrew married Mary Pierce on Sept 29 1811 in Hartford Conn. They had a son Henry born 1822 in Conn and died 1890 in Hampden Co Mass. I don't know if Andrew and Mary had any other children. Andrew isn't listed in the Goodrich book... This is my brick wall.. Are you aware that there is a Goodrich Family Association? The association, originally created in the early 1980s, was revived by its founder, George Farrell, in the fall of 2005. We have 6 trustees and about 50 members and are growing every day! We email our quarterly newsletter to over 250 subscribers. Our website can be found at: www.GoodrichFamilyAssoc.org The website contains surname and location indices to Case's book (The Goodrich Family in America), information regarding our ongoing DNA project, descendant charts for John and Ensign William Goodrich, and our newest feature, a FORUM with six areas of interest where postings can be entered. In the near future, we will be adding even more features. We welcome any visitors to our website, as well as any requests to receive our emailed newsletter, and certainly, any new members to our growing association. If you have any questions, please contact me at kmw328@aol.com Sincerely, Kay Waterloo, Treasurer/Newsletter Editor Goodrich Family Association www.GoodrichFamilyAssoc.org

Well, Allegedly, Samuel went to Nebraska (who knows). Don't have death cert on him. William George stayed in Illinois moving to Peoria in his teens, died in 1963. Emery supposedly joined mililtary, lied about his age, when they found out, kicked him out. Don't know what name he used when he joined. We do have a picture of him in military uniform. Emery was killed at a young age in Montana in railroad accident. My great-grandfather was Charles Edwin Goodrich, b. 1847 in Hartland, McHenry Co, IL as 2nd son to Charles W. and Electa Burke Goodrich. (Case only lists the first son George N.) He enlisted in the Civil War from NY, later moving to NYC, Jersey City NJ, and Brooklyn NY. His occupation was flour futures, or flour salesman. He was married in 1879 to Annie Lewis Thompson and had 5 daughters--the middle one was my grandmother. After 1893 he disappeared leaving huge gambling debts and his wife & children never knew what happened to him. His mother stated in 1900 that she had 5 children with only 2 living (2 daughters who are well-documented). The family thought he was either dead or escaped to Canada. His sister, Charlotte Goodrich Howard, living near Rochester, NY, always kept in touch with his family. I would dearly love to know what happened to him. He was only 53 in 1900 so could have started a whole new family, perhaps with a new name. Pam
