They are listed on the salve schedual of 1860 being owned (I hate that term) by my Great Great Grandfather Henry Goodrich in Baltimore city wards 5 and 6 of the 1860 census, The 4 were: a female age 46, female age 12, female age 4 all listed as black and a 1 year old male listed as mulatto. Being as things were,in those days, I am pretty sure that Henry was probably the father of the 1 year old boy. I would like to find any relations of these people and welcome them into my family. 1. [GOODRICH] A Goodrich Bible
    2. To My Distant Goodrich Kin, I have an application for membership in the DAR dated May 10, 1927. The paper is for a descendent of a Goodrich/Lloyd marriage, and is based on RW service of a John Lloyd. The items submitted to prove Elijah Goodrich married Rachel Lloyd include a family Bible. The Bible is probably a Goodrich Bible, because the entry specifies "in Elijah Goodrich's handwriting". Does anyone have ideas on how to locate this Bible. I would like to know all the entries relating to the marriage and any of the Lloyd name. Thanks for any help. Bruce Lloyd, Dryden, NY

    3. Go to Rootsweb.com and use the World Connect. Type in the surname and then the first name, or you can put in as much information as you have or want. You will have to look at each one, there are a lot. I am related to the Goodrich line of Ashbel Goodrich, born in Vermont, migrated to Michigan and ended in Grundy County, Missouri. If you have access to Ancestry.com you can also find a lot of information there. 3. These Goodriches keep escaping from me. I think Nathan Goodrich was in Vermont in late 1700s and then went to Virginia. There several of his children were born one of which was Abner in 1799. Then he went with his family back to Vermont it seems about 1810. At least that is where I think I found him. He and his three sons Abner, William and George went to Franklin County Indiana around 1820 it appears. By 1830 Abner was in Rush County Indiana and the other 3 were in Shelby County Indiana where that branch seemed to settle. Abner however went on to Elkhart County Indiana. There it seems he died along with some of his children. I think I can account for the children except a John Thomas and Sidney Keyon Goodrich. I suspect one was born between 1835 and 1840 and died before 1850 and the other seemed to be born and died between census takings. Any information that anyone can provide will be appreciated. 3. Thank you for your reply. I see that I entirely failed to indicate that Asa and Margaret moved from Ohio to Andrew County Missouri, where the land transaction with the Ent's took place. I have not found records citing another child with Margaret, but they may exist. There may have been other children with Rachel. I also failed to mention that Isaac Goodrich's half sister Sarah Minteer married a William Goodrich on March 2, 1851, in Andrew County, MO. They later moved to California. I don't know what other relation William might be to Isaac, and only have three records citing this family (the marriage record, 1870 census in Andrew County, and a reference to them in Margaret's obituary). -Linda McNeil goodrich-request@rootsweb.com wrote: ==== GOODRICH Mailing List ==== Today's Topics: 1. Ohio 1846 or 1847 fought in Civil War d. August 1901 in Centralia, Washington). This is what I know: 1) Asa was married to Margaret Ent Minteer Goodrich (born PA 1811 - died Friday Oct. 6 1899 Lincoln Creek,Washington State, 89 years old ). I have copies of an indenture (August 12th 1851) between Peter and Jane Ent and "Asa Goodrich", over a piece of land. At the end of the document it states: "the above Asa Goodrich is not to sell the above land without the consent of Margaret Goodrich, his wife". Asa was her 2nd husband. 2) I believe Asa was 10 years younger than wife Margaret Ent Minteer Goodrich (born PA 1811 - died Washington State ). He was her 2nd husband. In the 1850 census Margaret is listed as age 38 and Asa Goodrich is listed with them with an age of 28, which may be a typo. 3) Asa and Margaret may have divorced when Isaac was young because Asa appears later in Indiana with a wife name Rachel Goodrich. There was another Andrew County Missouri indenture (26th of January 1860) witnessing that "Asa Goodrich "and Rachel Goodrich, his wife" of Marshall County Indiana conveyed and quit claim to Joseph Ent of Andrew County" (It appears to be the same land as in the above mentioned document and Margaret's name is also mentioned in the doc.) 1. [GOODRICH] Death of Henry Goodrich, Casadaga Village, OH, 8-29-1832
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Goodrich Classification: death Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.goodrich/1345/mb.ashx Message Board Post: As published in: The Sandusky Clarion Sandusky, Ohio August 29, 1832 Mr. Henry Goodrich, a respectable citizen of Casadage village, in this county, aged about 30, came to an untimely death on Thursday last, while engaged in digging of a well. He progressed to the depth of about 20 feet without curbing, and descended (two or three men in his employ declined to go down) to ascertain whether he would dig any further, or commence stoning, and while down a small quantity of earth fell in up to his knees; from this he extricated himself, when immediately more came in which again buried him up to his knees, and before he could extricate himself from this, more came down that reached to his middle, and while in this situation a rope was let down, which he fastened around him, and those above attempted to draw him up by the windlass; but he cried out that they would pull him in two & requested them to desist pulling, when presently a large quantity of earth caved in and buried him entirely under about a foot. It is supposed that the large quantity tha! t came in last, broke his neck, and that he died instantly, and his neck was found to be broken after he was got out. The accident occurred about two o'clock in the afternoon, and he was not extricated until one o'clock the next morning. From the time however that it began to cave until it covered him was not over ten minutes; and the failure to extricate him with life was thought to be owing to those with him losing much of their presence of mind at the critical moment. His funeral obsequeies were attended on Saturday last by a very large concourse of friends and neighbors.
