Caleb Goodnight and my g-g-grandfather (Albert G. Thompson) were friends in the Confederate army. They were in Col. Peter Mallett's battalion and participated in battles in North Carolina in December 1862. Caleb was still in Mallett's battalion when it was disbanded in June 1864. Does any one know what unit he was transfered to, whether or not he was wounded and/or captured in 1862, what his post war life was like and where he is buried? He, my gggf and several other soldiers were "messmates" at Camp Holmes, Raleigh, N.C. for most of two years. Thanks, Walter Hilderman
