Kenneth Goodnight Harrison City Formerly of Turtle Creek and Jeannette H. Kenneth Goodnight, 99, a resident of Golden Heights Personal Care Home, Harrison City, formerly of Turtle Creek and Jeannette, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011. He was born Feb. 8, 1912, in Fairmont, W.Va., a son of the late Ross and Nellie Baker Goodnight. Prior to his retirement, Ken was employed by Westinghouse Electric, in East Pittsburgh. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the rank of master sergeant in the Army. Ken was a member of Ascension Church, VFW Post 8240, and a regular at Nancy's Coffee Shop, all of Jeannette. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Julia Zellonis Goodnight, in 1999; a son, Donald Long; two grandsons, Kenneth and Christopher Long; a brother, Rex Goodnight; and a sister, Virginia "Dee" Horton. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Woloshun and husband, John, of Jeannette; four grandchildren, Terry Woloshun and wife Heidi, Jeremy Woloshun and wife Marianne, Pamela Birr and husband Jack, and Heather Long; four great-grandchildren, Dimitri, Nikolai, Noah and Roman Woloshun; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. The Jeannette Combined Veterans will hold services at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday in Ascension Church at a time to be announced. Interment with military honors accorded by the Jeannette Combined Veterans will follow in Braddock Catholic Cemetery. (Pennsylvania - Pittsburgh Tribune) Ascension Church ."
