Octavio Gonzalez an aunt remembered worked for an airlines. In a resent trip to Miami I located an Obit on an Octavio. Obit reads: "Octavio Gonzalez, 37 a Pan American Airways traffic representative, died Thursday after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Gonzalez, a resident of 1426 NW 29th Street had lived in Miami for 20 years. He leaves his wife Blanche and a daughter Nancy." I am assuming Nancy would be in her 50's today. Looking for Nancy now.

Hello List, This is my HUGE Brickwall and need some assistance or any suggestions on what I should do ??? 1. My g g grandparents were both born in Mexico (not sure where). Would like to know how to find out where in Mexico. They were both born in 1850's. I would like to find their birth certificate but don't know where to write for it. I have a death record on my g g grandmother but it doesn't show where in Mexico she was born in or her parents names. I would also like to find out who their parents are. A death record can not be found for my g g grandfather. They both died in Uvalde, Texas. They were also married in Uvalde, Texas. Can't find a marriage record on them either. 2. My g g grandmother was married to somone prior to my g g grandfather by the last name of FLORES. I do not have his 1st name. They had 2 or 3 children from this marriage but haven't been able to find their birth/death certificates (believe that they were born in Uvalde, Texas approx 1870's). Not sure if this "Mr. Flores" died in Uvalde. I have contacted the church, funeral home, city cemetery, city hall but no records can be found, not even their burials. No family members remember names. I am stuck, not sure where I can go from here. I did find them in different census lists, but no clues as to who their parents are, or Mr. Flores's first name. I feel to go on further with my search, I need to find out my g g grandparent's names and my g g grandmother's first husbands name. NAMES IN QUESTION: G G Grandparents-- Francisco Ramirez & Ana Maria Gonzales Sorry this is long, I tried to make it as short as I could. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Louise

Surnames: gonzalez Classification: Biography Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AUZ.2ACEB/706 Message Board Post: When Alberto and Paula Molina González decided to move to Dallas,TX in 1946 from Laredo, TX, little did they know that their strong work ethic, family values and goals were laying the foundation for their family's future. Alberto Sr. possessed a sixth grade education, yet he possessed a tremendous entrepreneurial spirit that his family would later inherit. Over a period of time, he learned to become a great insurance salesman and later a highly successful independent real estate investor. This success established his family's goals for his children: a better education, a better life, and most importantly, a dream that his sons would also become independent businessmen. Albert Jr. - the oldest son - and Frank, both obtained the first González family goal, a strong education in the Dallas parochial school system. Albert later graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and Frank graduated from Southern Methodist University. With strong educational backgrounds and solid Dallas roots, the González sons, with their father's advice, direction, and motivation, entered the mortuary business in 1977. Alberto Sr. realized that the Hispanic community in Dallas was not receiving the quality of service and care that it deserved. He envisioned a market that was about to explode in size and soon become truly Hispanic, not just of Mexican descent. This void in funeral service for the Hispanic community became the cornerstone for Albert Jr. and Frank to develop González Funeral Home Inc. into not only the largest and oldest Hispanic - owned mortuary in the Dallas - Ft. Worth area, but one of the largest independently - owned firms in North Texas. Expanding in size and service, the González brothers recognized the unique cultural, economic, and religious needs of the Hispanic community. The strong family ties of the González upbringing became the springboard for providing integrity and quality service. This is what familia creates for a successful business. Today, nearly 25 years later Alberto Sr. and Paula remember those early days in Dallas with pride and now see their grandchildren carry out the mission side-by-side with their fathers. Family Owned vs. Corporate Owned You can find them on New York's Wall Street. You can find us on Stemmons Freeway. The fact that the companies who control other area funeral homes are listed on the stock exchange means something. It means they answer to their stockholders, not our community. It also means, that to keep their stockholders happy, they often may have to resort to extremes to keep their trading value high. Not Us.
