He drove a bus from Chama to Santa Fe for 37 years. He also drove for the U.S. Postal Service from Chama to Pagosa Springs, Colo., for 12 years and worked for the state highway department and drove a passenger van to bingo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlota and Marcos Gonzales; and brothers, Frank, Amado and Jose Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Jane Gonzales of Chama; brother, Viciente Gonzales; sister, Anna Aldaz; children, Jim Gonzales and Margaret, Tony Gonzales, Mary Cincio and Jess, Veronica Gonzales and Albert, Josie Baca and David, Carla Gonzales, Ramona Olivas and Robert, Patricia Marrow and Steve, Rick Gonzales and Mary Ellen, Nick Gonzales and Helen, Marsha Gonzales, Rudy Gonzales and Margaret, Gerald Rivera and Debra, Nellie Gonzales and Ronell Holmes, Peggy Montaño and Steve, Danny Gonzales and Ray Archuleta, Nick Gonzales and Darlene Montoya, Anna Gonzales and Erika Naranjo, Loretta Gonzales and Jackie Torrez; 47 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held at 5:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. today at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home. A second rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patricks Parish in Chama. Mass will celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patricks Parish in Chama followed by cremation.
