He was born in San Diego and was a civil service employee of the Navy. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the VFW. Survivors include his daughters, Monica Reinicke and Gayla Gonzales-Brown of San Diego; son, Stephen Gonzales of National City; and sister, Mary Gonzales of San Diego.
