B 8. Mr. Gonzales is not a relative of the writer. Mr. Gonzales was born September 17, 1923 in New York City. He was a three-year resident of Ocean Pines in Worcester County; formerly of Annapolis, MD. He died of cancer on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the Snow Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA; his Master's degree from Alfred University in New York. He retired in 1978 from the Office of Economic Opportunity where he was in charge of inspection for the Headstart Program. He was also a newspaper and television journalist in Norfolk, VA during the 1960's-1970's. He also worked for the Food & Drug Administration and NASA's public information office. He was an author & a playwright. He is survived by his two sons: Patrick Gonzales of Annapolis & James Gonzales of Laurel, MD, and three grandchildren. Funeral services and interment were private.
