Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/odZ.2ACIB/524 Message Board Post: Albuquerque Journal - September 2, 2003 Ryan Patrick Gonzales, 17, a resident of Los Chavez, peacefully passed away at University of New Mexico Hospital with his family at his side, on Sunday, August 31, from injuries as a result of an accident. Ryan was a senior with the class of 2004 at Belen High School, and was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Sanchez Gabaldon, nine months ago. He is survived by his father, Randy Gonzales and wife, Marcella, and brother, Miguel, of Stanley, NM, and step-father, David Gabaldon, and brother, Aaron Gabaldon of the family home in Los Chavez, Grandparents, Rosalyn Gonzales of Belen, Joe and Emily Gabaldon of Albuquerque, Proceso and Rosalie Sanchez of Tome, and Henry and Mary Lou Salazar of Stanley, NM. He is also survived by an enormous amount of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Ryan was a kind person who was always eager to smile, and he loved to spend time with his friends. He recently spent several days in! San Diego with his brother Aaron, where Ryan claimed they were both just one wave short of becoming world-class surfers. Ryan's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at UNM Neuroscience Intensive Care for their tireless efforts and compassion in caring for Ryan, especially Michael Venhaus, RN, for helping to make complex information understandable. All those who cared for Ryan are truly God's angels. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen with a rosary following at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen. Interment will take place on Saturday, September 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
