She was a senior companion with the foster grandparents program. She worked at the Las Vegas Medical Center, formerly known as the State Hospital, for 26 years, the Southwest Senior Care Center for 13 years and West Las Vegas Schools as a crossing guard. She was a lifelong Catholic and member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Emigila Gonzales; husband, Florencio Gutierrez; son, Gerald Gutierrez; daughter, Joann Trujillo; grandson, Joshua Gutierrez; brothers, Amador Gonzales and Leroy Gonzales; and sisters, Jane Encinias, Grace Gonzales and Arabella Encinias. She is survived by her sons, Ray Gutierrez and wife Lorraine, George Gonzales, Richard Gutierrez and wife Margaret, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; daughter, Jessie Gutierrez and fiancée Leroy Romero of Las Vegas, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Roberto Castellano and David Gonzales,! both of Las Vegas, N.M., Placido Gonzales of Tecolote; and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at the Tecolote Cemetery.
