Brisk d'Lite, which translates as a son of Brisk d'lite which is the Jewish name for Brest-Litovsk. Pinkas wife, Miriam, was my parternal grandfather's sister and said grandfather was always desribed as coming from Kobrin and Brest-Litovsk -- I am assuming that he was born in one and migrated to the other at some time. All 40 or so original Jewish families were related in one way or another. As a child I had heard that this one came to Westerly because of that relative who was already there. The argument for Kobrin is that there is another tombstone for one of the Soloveitchiks (spelling?) which describes the young man, again in Hebrew, as being "a son of Kobrin." I am not much into doing much geneology, but I am particularly interested in finding any descendents of Pinkhas Goldberg to express my eternal gratitude to him for one act of kindess done to me when I was very, very little (and which probably saved my life). I have written it up as a little vignette which I would be happy to send to any Goldberg descentdent who sends me an email offline (I do not know how to post it to this message board, or if it is even possible.
