He was my great grandfather, and was born I believe in Wales. I suspect his father may have been French, and not from the UK. Max was a member of the Labour Party, he went to Lenin University/School in Russia and worked in the mining industry in Russia, Wales and Scotland. He then married Catherine McCausland (b. Glasgow, 1907). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!
