Goff and Phoebe Walling. What is known so far: 1. William Goff is the son of Ambrose Goff and Martha Richards. He was born before 1800 in either VA or TN--his parents lived in Bedford Co VA and later moved to Bledsoe Co TN. 2. Phoebe Walling is the daughter of Thomas Marning Walling and Nancy Jones. She was born around 1804 in White Co TN. 3. William and Phoebe were married in Warren Co. TN around 1820 and had at least four children there: James (b. ca. 1822), Ambrose (b. ca. 1830), Nancy J. (b. 4 Apr 1833) and Martha (b. ca. 1836). 4. It is believed that William and Phoebe both died in Warren Co around 1850--their burial location is unknown. 5. Their daughter Nancy married Lorenzo Dow Tittle (my 2G-grandparents) around 1851 in Warren Co TN. My records show that their first child, Martha, was born in Cannon Co TN in 1853, and the remainder of their lives was spent in Cannon Co. I'd appreciate any information or leads about Goff family members in and around Warren and Cannon Cos. TN during this period. I have found little biographical information about them so far.
