The origins of Elizabeth Welsh as the wife of John Turton Goff are explored on p. 122 of the book, The Four Goff Brothers of Western Virginia, which Roy Lockhart and I researched and wrote. The conclusion in the book is that Elizabeth's "existence is in doubt." Most likely all of John Turton Goff's were by his wife Monica Carrico. Every known document created during the lifetime of John Turton Goff and which related to John Turton Goff was examined in producing this book. If anyone knows of a document created during the lifetimes of John Turton Goff or Elizabeth Welsh that refers to Elizabeth Welsh, I am interested.
