On 23 Apr. 1705, Cornelios {sic} MILLER & John GOFF witnessed a deed at Easthampton {sic} from Joseph HAND of New Fairfield, West New Jersie, to Stephen HAND of Easthampton. John GOFF registered his livestock brand, a heart on the left buttock, 9 Apr. 1704, East Hampton. If that was the same brand John GOFF registered in Cape May Jan. 1710/11, that could be the missing link. Has anyone tried to find what that brand was? John GOFF who m. 22 May 1701, East Hampton, Ann EDWARDS, must be the John GOFF whose five children were bpt. there 23 Apr. 1710: John, William, Joseph, Ann, & Hannah. The children could have been baptized in anticipation of the move to New Jersey. Note that John of Cape May had sons John & William who would have been born in that time frame.
