    1. Re: Frank Goff
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Goff, Gaff Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5MZ.2ACEB/964.1.1.1 Message Board Post: This may be the brother of George Ernest Goff, whom I am searching for on behalf of my ex-husband & for our children's geneology. From what my ex-husabnd & I gleaned, Frank was a border-patrolman in Washington state. The Goff family I am trying to find is from Tupper Lake Junction, NY. They were French-Canadians, pioneers of upstate New York in the late 1800's, that originally spelled their name "Gaff", but I guess through mis-pronunciation it was often interchanged as "Goff". Try searching "Gaff" records as well. A second cousin (Thank you Andy! Please contact me again!) sent me pictures and articles and info that I need to get out of storage since moving to FL to continue research. This family was extremely talented! They all played musical intruments and were on a weekly radio show! I really wish I could tell y ou moreI I would like to learn more as well! I even contacted my ex's 1/2 bro & sis- they refuse contact & will not give us any info. They were born in ! a different era and were very hurt by their dad. My ex is a 1942 war baby. Time does not heal all wounds. George Ernest Goff died in 1948 from complications of malaria & beatings from being in the Bataan Death March and in a Japanese prison camp. So my ex never knew his father...nor his half siblings who have rejected him. If I can get to my records i n storage I will give you what I h ave on Frank...if his B-day and place of birth match. His 3rd marriage was to Mary Goodrow. He was an instructor at West Point when he died and an article/interview was written about him by a cadet at the time about his experience as a POW.
