A Hannah Goff married Amos Foreman in old Frederick County, VA in 1801, He died in 1802 and she married Moses Neebanks in 1803. They appear on 1810 Frederick census but no other record. THis areas was on The Great WAgon Road to Kentucky and Tennesse and it is possible her family was just here temproarily before heading out. GOFF is not a very common surname in this area before or after this time frame.

From McNairy Co., TN list Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., 02 April 2003 JAMES H. GOFF of Henderson, 77, died 21 Mar 2003 at Chester County Healthcare. Mr. Goff was born in Chester County, son of the late Kelly and Lovie Crow Goff. He attended schools in McNairy County and farmed in his younger years. He was married to Faye Massengill in 1947. He worked as a sheetmetal worker for Piggly Wiggly until his retirement in 1975. He worked for Guinn Bros. Auto Dealer in Henderson for several years after his retirement. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Faye Massengill Goff of Henderson; three daughters, Jane Johnson and Tammy Goff, both of Henderson, and Tina Jones and her husband Jeff of Lexington; two son, Doyle Goff and his wife Wanda, and Sammy Goff, all of Henderson. He had nine grandchildren and fourteen gr-grandchildren. Services were held at 3 p.m. on Mar. 23rd at Leon Johnson Funeral Home, with Bro. Ben Flatt officiating. Burial followed at Sweetlips Cemetery.

He is married (can't remember the wife's name, think it is Jan), and they have two daughters. My GGrandmother Elizabeth L. Goff married Thomas Jefferson Hardison (He was a Junior- and a Pvt in Co's Fand E 57 GA Inf,CSA between 1`862 and 1865) sometime before 1866 in Byron, Houston County, Georgia.
