    3. I have a Martha Ann GOFF (1843 LA--1924 Gonzales Co. TX) Martha A. GOFF, married Robert Allen KING abt 1873 at Madison Co. TX. Their children were: 1.Joseph Warren KING (1875--1880)----2. Harriet Susan KING (1877)-----3.Mary Elizabeth KING (1879--1947)-----4.Mose KING (1881--1934)-----5.Jennie King (1883--1954)----- Thomas Wayne KING (1885--1951) Robert A. KING & Martha Ann (GOFF)KING are in the 1880 census of Madison Co. TX. Robert A. KING (1834 MS--1887 Llano Co. TX) Martha A. GOFF is the d/o Jesse GOFF & Eliza WADE. This would make her the same age as the Martha GOFF you have listed. This Martha GOFF did not have any children out of wedlock. The next thing I found was she married Silvester McDaniel in April of 1875. This is from Madison Co. My interrest in this is I am hoping she is the mother of my grandfather Joe Goff who was put up for adoption, he was born about July 1870. This could have happened out of wedlock because he was born Joe Goff. Joe also had a brother Hatley or Hadley William Goff both born in Madison Co. I can't find any other information about her. I hope this is something you can use. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5MZ.2ACEB/495.1 Message Board Post: Reddick Woodham WAS born in Stokes Bridge, SC. If you spend a lot of time on census records, you will find more mistakes than could be counted. You must take them with a "grain of salt". For instance, in the last week, I have found several census takers who began abbreviating the state of Indiana as "India" -- without the period. Those folks likely never even heard of the nation of India. The census takers often spelled Indiana as "Indian", again without a period. Therefore, some folk today are believing their ancestors were Indians (or "Native Americans"). I even found some folk listed as "Hindu". I guarantee you those folks never even heard of a Hindu back then. So watch out for errors and use that only as a 'starting point'. R. E. Woodham Woodham Family Association

Some of my Colyers (brothers and sisters) were born in Nashville, Tenn., Ludlow, Ky. and Somerset, Ky. Then I talked to a cousin and she said her Father was born in Nashville because our Grandfather worked for the Railroad. This was in 1912-16 but still could have been the case in1880's. Just taught I'd chime in. Wesley > > Message Board Post: > > I don't have your William Green Goff in my data, but of course these things are never complete.
