My father being, George W. Goff. His father was Ernest West Goff and his father was Samuel Goff. After that, I'm not real sure. My brother and mother met Roy shortly after his first book on the Goff's. He was gracious enough to bring copies of photos. My mother is living in Parkersburg, WV., I live in Little Hocking, OH., and my brother, George W. Goff Jr., lives in Alabama. For Christmas this past year, Sonny, as we call him, gave each of us a copy of your book.. It's wonderful and very difficult to put down. I want to thank you and Roy for the time, effort and diligence in researching our history. We didn't know very much about our family until my brother learned of the first book. I strongly encourage the descendents and those that are not sure whether they are descendents, of the four brothers, to get the book and read it. The stories are thrilling to read. Were you able to get a marriage license for them for Feb. 8, 1844? I am new at at this ancestry searching and I may not be using this mesage board correctly. I stumbled on to accidently and no one has showed me how to use it correctly... so bear with me. The site I was referring to, I found by typing : Henry Prairie, Texas where you look for websites on the internet... I was surprised when the cemetery list came up. I wish the census reports were more accurate.. spellings, ages, etc. are not accurate every 10 years and often there is no consistent listings. A lot of it is phonetic spelling.

LeeRoy Jackson Byrd and Josephine...Their mother is listed as widowed in 1880 in Grimes County...But their are so very many coincidences that they just have to connect somehow. The mother was married previously and her husband was still living...I guess she was divorced...perhaps she did it again...Then she married a Parker....
