You're very welcome! Thanks for being patient with me! I think that I might have found it online, but it's been a couple of years since then, so I can't say for certain... But it should be available offline as well, this link lists libraries where it's available - http://www.worldcatlibraries.org/wcpa/top3mset/2078733 :-) (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Biographical+Souvenir+of+the+States+of+Georgia+and+Florida%22 also includes other links as well to places that have it or that reference it) As I think I mentioned earlier, I lost part of my database a few years ago and I haven't had time since November 23, 2004 when my daughter was born (LOL), but I do plan to work on comparing my computer files with my printed-out version as well as other reference materials that have been packed up in boxes about that long as well) Regards, Allison Goettee (Goethe) Newton > From: Stephen Wolgemuth <[email protected]> > Date: 2007/07/24 Tue PM 12:19:10 EST > To: <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [GOETHE] Dr. James E. Allison, Thank you SO much for checking up on this information! It was so helpful and informative. I've been working on the Family Tree for the Brooks children (my mother, Penny, is the oldest of the Brooks kids). They are so eager to check out what I've accumulated. Thank you for providing Sarah E. Sweat (Goethe's) last name, as that's been a mystery. I was most interested in the excerpt from "Biographical Souvenir of the States of Georgia and Florida." I've been researching on www.ancestry.com and anything I could find through Google. But, this is a new source for me. Is this source online or is it a book to purchase? Thank you again!!! Okay, I *FINALLY* had a chance to get online from the computer at home with my genealogy information... I'll check for the census information, but I do have some information for you on James to offer... Dr. James E. Goethe, born Mar 09, 1854, married Sue W. Dr. James E. Goethe was a son of William Goethe (Goettee) and Sarah C., according to Dean Broome's History of Pierce County, Georgia. Mr. Broome was given information that Sarah's maiden name was Box. James E.'s mother Sarah C. Goethe was widowed by the 1900 census, when she was living in the household of another son, George R. Goethe (also widowed). They were enumerated next door to James E. Goethe on the 1900 Irwin County, Georgia census. On that 1900 census, James E. and Eliza E. Goethe are shown to have been married for just one year. Therefore, none of the children listed would have been Eliza's. Kathleen Marsh

Let's get some discussions going! What lines/families are you all working on and what is your major genealogical goal for 2005? Which ancestor or information do you most hope to find this year? (I would like to see some good exchanges of information between all of the list members, especially anyone who has never posted or that are new to the list. Please keep on the topic of the respective lists, as I am posting this to all the lists I manage.) I look forward to seeing your responses! - Allison Goettee (Goethe) Newton http://genealogy.southeastusa.net
