Susanah unknown. William Godbey came to Montgomery Co., Va. c, 1780 and died c. 1833. Most records show William's wife as Zannah, but Pulaski Co., VA death register lists parents of Francis and Benjamin as William and Susanah Godbey. John Godbey m. Naomi Bame is also listed as child of William Godbey, but no John Godbey is listed in William Godbey's will nor estate settlement. There is also a Rafael Godbey listed as living with Charles Gunter in Lousia Co c. 1778. Next door neighbor to Gunter/Godbey was a William Godbey. Does anyone know who these Godbey's were? Any help would be appreciated. Tom Thompson Wilmington, N. C. --part0_921949056_boundary--
