She was born about 1847/48 in Quebec and died 8 Feb 1921 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. She married Onesime Lafrance (dit Daragon) in St. Albert, Ontario about 1867. My family oral history has been that she was Metis and that her parents were Adolphe Godard and Zepherine Brunet. I found a couple with those names married in 1868 but this cannot be her parents as they married one year after her! Were there two couples with these names? I have a photo of Sophie and Onesime taken in the late 1800s that can be seen at http://www3.sympatico.ca/smaw/ . There may be other Godards on the bottom of this page listed under "unknowns".
