Dear list, As you may know, during December the message boards were changed to a new format. One of the changes which effects our list concerns the gatewayed posts (the copy of posts made on the board which are sent to the list). We will no longer see the return e-mail address of the author of that post. Instead, all posts will be from [email protected] One of the reasons is a privacy issue: many board posters do not realize their message will be sent via email to a mailing list and archived. To comply with their own privacy policies, RootsWeb will no longer be disclosing the email addresses of posters outside of the place they expect it to be (when person posts on the board, he/she expects the address to be revealed on the board - not on a mailing list or archive). As always, the gatewayed message will contain a link to the message *on the board*. Since we cannot know if the poster is a list subscriber, the best way to respond to the author is to use that link and reply *on the board*. If you have any questions, please contact me privately.
