I have data on a Ephriam Henry Goad, a UNION army veteran from southern Tennnesse, who, after the war, located in Whitfield County, Georgia (old Cherokee territory before it was stolen). He had children born from 1868 until 1895 including a John born in 1889. How does that date and locatuon fit ?? He was pehaps the grandson of a man named HIRAM from Monroe County, Tenn. His parents were William and Martha Jane Goad. Ephriam named childrern Sidney, Nancy (Coyle), Martha (Bruce), Nannie (Atwood), Nettie (Fox), Jimmie (Long). Hattie,Spencer and Georgia. Did any of these names carrty down or ring any bells ?? His wife was Tennessee Elizabeth Cagle. There were very few Goads in early Georgia . Do you know when your John Goad was born or where ? Or where he lived ? -- Ken
