Her name was Elizabeth, not Martha. And Hammack was spelled that way in that era in Pittsylvania.I may have a date for the marriage but cannot find it right now. I now find a reference that says it was May, 1784. This referernce has "Hammock". Elizabeth Goad was the daughter of William and Tabitha Goad who had at least ten children. Several went to Smith County, Tenn. in ca 1805. Even before Pittsylvania, the Goads and Hammacks livved in Richmond County, Va, What data did you have that stated John and Martha Hammack ??? --- Ken
