Goad and his brother James. John E. and James were born in Virginia according to their obits then moved to Portsmouth, Ohio. Both served in the Civil War. John was married first to Rebecca Shields and they had 7 children..William, Mayme, Virginia, James E., John T., Anna, and another girl..no first name listed. Rebecca died in 1881 and John married Elizabeth Magnet. They had 4 children..Lucy, Mable, Walter, and Harry. James was married to ? Stewart who preceded him in death in 1899. Their parents were listed as Wesley Goad and (could be spelled wrong) Terbitha (?) Rader. Could be Tabitha Rader. James and John lived in Portsmouth, Ohio and are both buried there.
