Bishop, daughter of Sarah Jane Goad (b. ca 1827) and John Bishop Jr. The above Reuben Goad and Sarah Jane Goad are both listed in Smith's book as children of Abraham Goad, b. 1789 (son of James Goad & Nancy Collier) -- Sarah Jane from his first marriage, to Alsey Hewitt, and Reuben from his second marriage, to Rachel Cock. If all this data is correct, then Reuben was Nancy R. Bishop's half-uncle, that is, the half-brother of her mother. Does anyone have any data that would confirm this close kinship between husband and wife, or on the other hand any other parentage attributed to Reuben and/or Sarah Jane or Nancy R. ?
