A record in an old family Bible shows someone named, "Goarde" married Elizabeth McDougal on the last day of December in 1857. There is also a birth date of a "Goard" child listed in the Bible. The writing in the old Bible is hard to read, but I believe that "Goarde"/"Goard" is probably "Goad". If anyone has information that could help shed light on this mystery please let me know. Thanks!
