Our family has been in Nebraska since the early 1900s when my great-grandfather moved up from Kansas. Most of us have left for other locations (I am within 75 miles of some of my line settled in Arkansas back in the 1830s) but some, such as my Dad, a brother and a sister, have since moved back. Our line does go back to Abraham and Katherine of Richmond County, Virginia, though there is one "weakest" link in the connection of James M. Goad of Pttslvania/Bedford County, Virginia with his father, who many believe to have been Robert Goad of Maury County, Tennessee, son of John Goad of Bedford County, Virginia.
