    1. [GOAD-L] hard-drive crash; lesson learned the HARD way
    2. Mike Goad
    3. Hi all, Good news, bad news My hard-drive on my "old" computer crashed last week. Unfortunately, even though we have a new computer, the old one was the computer that I was still using for my genealogy projects. My most recent backup, at least the one that I could find, for my database is over four months old. The good news there is that I've not made very many entries or corrections in that time. I thought the bad news was going to be that I lost somewhere about 200 images that I had scanned in of family group sheets from June Goad Worland's research and an index that I was developing of the names on the group sheets. The group sheets were to have been uploaded to the internet to share... And the index... it's on the new computer. I don't have them linked on web pages yet. For anyone that might want to scan through them, they are between http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mikegoad/fgs0033.jpg and http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mikegoad/fgs0397.jpg Just edit the address/location at the top of your browser to look at the images (change the "fgs0033" to "fgs0200" to look at the image for group sheet #200, for example) The first 200 group sheets are indexed by head of household and spouse at http://www.rootsweb.com/~mikegoad/html/groupsheet.htm . I can't promise when I'll get back to this project. I have way too many projects in progress, most of them NOT genealogy related. However, I will get back to it. There's another 400 plus group sheets to get scanned in. Mike
