An Emanuel Goad was a Private in Company D, 38 Arkansas Infantry (Confederate). It is believed that Oliver, son of Ephraim and 1st wife, died circa 1866 An Oliver Goad was a Private in Company D, 38 Arkansas Infantry. According to Edmonds Family (http://awt.ancestry.com) I found where the site listed an Emanuel Goad born 1827 in TN (son of Ephraim Goad and Susannah Jester) and that he died 8 August 1888 in Denton, Lawrence Co.,, AR. He married Mary A. Winchell. I have also seen somewhere that an Emanuel Goad married M.R. Oaks on 01 April 1888. It is entirely possible that Mary A. Winchell Goad had died (or divorced) and that Emanuel married a second time to M.A. Oaks months before he died.
