    1. [GOAD-L] Goad-Hardin
    2. Hi all, There are several areas of interest to me with our Goads, but there is one area that I am particularly interested in and that is of the spouse of Rev John Goad of KY and AR. John Goad was the son of Lewis Goad b 1772 Pittsylvania VA and Susie Walker b abt 1775 VA. The minister John Goad was b Sept 6, 1806 I believe in Christian Co KY, he d Dec 3, 1887 in Denmark, White Co. AR. John mar first Elizabeth Hardin abt 1826 in Graves Co. KY. Elizabeth d Oct 3, 1875 in Denmark. Who was Elizabeth Hardin? Almost everything I can find has no records of her family in Graves County, KY. Did her family live in a county nearby? Some think she may be of the "Knob Creek" Hardin's. Many of the Hardin's of KY are very well known, but I have not heard of anyone tying our Elizabeth Hardin-Goad into the Hardin line. Has anyone out there found out where she came from? One record that survives is an account of Geo. Washiongton Goad son of John Goad who states in an 1890's article in God Speed that his mother (Elizabeth Hardin-Goad) was the dau or grandau of a Benjamin Hardin who was in the Revolutionary War. After Elizabeth and John Goad marry her life record seems to be well stabilized in White County. John and Elizabeth Goad left Graves County KY for Denmark AR on Feb 3, 1846 with wagons and it took 2 months travel to arrive. Would someone share with me and the Goad list who they think Elizabeth Hardin's parents were and how they got to Graves County, KY. Mike Golden
