Hi all, There are 174 subscribers to GOAD-L (individual messages sent) and 60 subscribers to GOAD-D (digest format messages collected and periodically sent out in a group of messages). While some are subscribed to both lists, I believe that it is safe to say that there are over 200 subscribers to the list. With this many subscribers, there is a fair chance that many of us have information that would be useful to others. The problem is that we don't know that we have what you are looking for unless you ask. I am currently working on a Goad census index which I will post on-line when I have it ready. The index will be primarily derived from electronic sources. I intend to post it sorted in at least a couple of different ways. One way will be to post it alphabetically sorted by first name or initial, if that was all that was recorded by the census enumerator. Another way will be sorted by county and state. I would point out that this is to be an index only and most of the indexes that I have gotten these names from only list the head of household. I'm still manually sorting the information into a table by cut and paste. Once all of it is in the table format, I'll be able to sort it and create web pages fairly quickly. (I'm not sure how long this will take, especially since I will be working 12+ hour shifts starting Saturday.) Looking for information on Paul Goad who lived in Memphis from the early 1900's until the 1950's. Paul was probably born in about 1880. He married Mary Dora (Harris) Brooks at sometime after the death of her husband Oscar Brooks, who died in Aug 1917. Mary Dora (Harris) Brooks was born in August 1882 (or 1883), and married Oscar Brooks in about 1902. They had 4 children: Earl Brooks (b: 1904), Dor Lee (b: 1911), Gladys (b:1906) Jack (b: 1908). Mary and Paul Goad lived at 354 Olive Street in Memphis.
