    1. [GOAD-L] TN Goads
    2. I am looking for info on some Goads of Tennessee. My wife's grandfather was a Marshall, born 1881- died 1962 in Gibson County, TN. He was married to a Victoria Owens, born 1885, died 1981 in TN. Marshall's father was James William Goad (1846-1886). His wife was Mollie E., later married an Armstrong. Children of James and Mollie were Bethel B. (1879-1964), Marshall (1881-1962), and Baxter W. (1885-1966). Anyone have any info that may continue my research? Tim Clay

    1. [GOAD-L] CHARLES GOAD From Texas (World War II)
    2. Shirley Goad
    3. I'm looking for The family of a CHARLES GOAD From TEXAS, who served in the Army Air Corp (World War II). He was stationed with the 92nd Bomb Group in England, was a Tech Sgt., and the engineer on the plane. He had 34 missions, went on his last mission (35th) with a different crew. The plane was shot down and he died. (Once they had 35 missions in they were sent back to the states) He was about 19 years old, plus or minus a year. This was about March or April 1945. I had sent a e-maiil out to many people about Gold Star Mothers and got this repy with above information. It came from a Retired Air Force Major who served with Charles. He Said "I would be very pleased to hear from you if you had some relationsship with such a fine young man. Of course, it has been many years since we served together and I know that this could be a long shot in the dark, but it would give me closure on a personal problem of never having the privilege of meeting or talking to some of his family. I do know that he was from Texas, but I never did know where in this great State". Sure hope we can find the Family of this Veteran. Please e-mail me back if you have any information. Thanking you in advance Shirley Goad in Louisiana meme1@wnonline.net .

Her family appears on the 1880 Greene census. She was the daughter of Ayers and Derinda (Knight) Goad, he the son of Peyton and Sophia (Jones) Goad. Peyton was the son of Ayers and Edith (Collier?) Goad, the founder of the Greene County Goad clan. From there we go back to Abraham, John and the oldest Goad of which we have knowledge, Abraham of Richmond Count, Va. I wrote a book on Goads all over the U.S. -- Ken
