Whitwell is about 30 or 40 miles from your area. Robert's father was William Goacher also born in Whitwell around 1800, married to Sarah Jenkins in 1824. I found 3 children, Robert (1826), Harriett (1824) and Reuben (1828). I imagine some way back our family trees do meet up, but how far I don't know. By all accounts the family seem to hail from Sussex. I'm looking in the Sheffield area. I've not had much luck with the censuses ( apart from the 1851) they seem to disappear after this.
