Hi Pauline I was born in Pilley Crescent in 1936. During the war everyone was evacuated after a bomb had fallen through a house 2 doors down from us but had not exploded. The same night the railway bridge near Pilley was bombed and for many years after the war there was a narrow bridge for pedestrians. There was a field at the bottom of the Crescent that was open for kids to play. This field butted up to the Delancy Hospital. At that time this was an isolation hospital - I was in there for 6 weeks with Scarlet Fever. Colin
