I have picked up rerferences to the Bartlets in Suffolk, Plymouth, London, Maldon Essex. In the past I have corresponded with a Martin Bartlett and a Peter Bartlett. In the Tirley area I have the following: Morris Gloucestershire Directory 1876 (a copy of this is available on line) Carriers Gloucester - William Davis, from his own house, Wed and Sat; and Bartlett, from Hasfield, passes through on Wed & Sat. I have picked up a reference to the Jelf family as follows: Gloucester Records Office Q3_32f7 Marriage licence of Elizabeth Colchester & John Jelfe 31 Apr[il] 1714 On which day appeared personally John Jelfe of Maismore in the Dioc[ese] of Glouc[estershire] batchelor aged Thirty years and upwards and alledged that a Marriage was intended between him and Elizabeth Colchester of Ashleworth in the same Dioc[ese] Widow and that there was no lawfull Imped[imen]t by reason of any precontract, Consanguinity or affinity or other matter whatsoever to hinder the same the truth whereof he made Oath & prayed a Licence &c John Jelfe ~~ his marke Jurat coram H Cenricis.
