Hello Patricia, A2A is Access to Archives. It is provided by the National Archives, Kew. The site provides a search facility that will/might tell the searcher where a document is located that contains the word or phrase entered in terms of the Archives that have submitted information. The name of the Archive Office is provided and references to the documents located are provided. An extract from the document, with the dearch term highlighted in yellow is provided. Sometimes this gives all the information that you might need without having to gain access to the original document. I hope that I have covered everything but surnames names that are also places or objects cause problems.... Cheers, Janet Heskins
