Hi Joan, Many thanks for your response which is much appreciated!!! [smile] I have gathered lots of data on my Locke Gypsy ancestors as some of them were well documented owing to their talents. My great Aunt, Esmerelda Locke was a dancer and singer, and was involved in a divorce case in Bridgenorth, Shropshire, which wass reported in newspapers as her then husband, Hubert Smith, was a local town clerk of some standing in the community, and her second husband, the son of a Bishop. Another of my ancestors, John Locke was claimed to be one of Englands finest violinists, and there are recordings of his playing on wax cylinders. Kind regards, Gerry.
