Hi I have a John HAWKER b. 1835 Welford on Avon, Gloucester. I have been trying for ages to locate his parents, but have been unsucsessful, i have tried FreeBMD and Ancestry with no luck, was wondering if SKS had any other idea's. Hi Cheryl, I'm probably stating the obvious but have you been able to find a marriage for John HAWKER, if so it would mention his fathers name. I found him in the 1851 census but not the 1861 or 1871. In district 8 for Welford I did not find any mention of a family by the name of Hawker for the 1841 census. A district 9 also comes under Welford but I haven't as yet checked it. I was working on the assumption of a transcription error.
