    2. I have found 8 surnames names on this list that are probably my family. They are all from the same small village/town. What I am wondering is what do they stand for? One did say under "Catalogue" Wills 1851-1800 so I take it that reference # is the # I need to find this Will. But all of the others just have "Non-Conformist" in the catalogue space and a reference # but a reference # for "what!" Birth, death, marriage, Will or what. A father and a mother and 2 of the children have the same date of 1799 and the same reference #. I was thinking that the may have all been killed at the same time! Or did Non Conformists have to register? I hope that someone can make this clear to me. I am probably just reading it wrong. The reference number for the Will would be what they would require (together with the surname) for produce the document. It could be that the Non-Conformist refers to a non conformist register of births/christenings or deaths/burials. Non-Cons weren't routinely killed off in 1799 ;)) It may be that there was something like an outbreak scarlet fever or TB or something that took the family. -- Charani (UK)
