Hi Cheryl I think that there is a high possibity that your John HAWKER was in fact born a totally different name... I have been looking at the fmily and as yet cannot work out where the HAWKER name comes from but what I have found appears to tie up with the family. I then searched again and evetually found the the family in 1851 census: Transcribed FORREST but if you look closely enough you will see it is FOURT 1851 Census: Welford Gloucestershire John H Forrest 1810 Knorth, Worcestershire, Head, Ag Lab Hannah Forrest 1803 Kemsey, Worcestershire, Wife Jane Forrest 1842 Welford, Gloucestershire, Daughter Ann Forrest 1848 Welford, Gloucestershire, Daughter *Elizabeth Forrest 1832 Charringworth, Gloucestershire, Lodger Civil parish: Welford County/Island: Gloucestershire Registration district: Stratford On Avon Sub-registration district: Kineton Source Citation: Class: HO107; Piece: 2074; Folio: ; Page: 1 * and amazingly the Elizabeth FORREST 1832 Lodger is in fact Charles COX a Pit Sawyer; can only think the person transcribing and typing must have gone bleary eyed. And perhaps the 'H' in John H FOURT represents the HAWKER!
