    3. Hi John Chance Street is still there - it is a small road off Barton Street in Tewkesbury. You may find something of interest on : http://www.ths.freeuk.com/ the website for the Tewkesbury Historical Society. 3. Thanks for this info Liz, have located where it is and have tried to ascertain if it is the correct place by browsing through the census pages before and after the original one HO/107 /1974.Folio 482. Page 38. to see if any of the streets and places given tally with present day but not with a deal of success, places given after my entry are Wellington Cottages, Nelson Cottages, Union Place and Speculation Place, and those after mine are Factory Building ? a lot of names in here any idea what it was ? then Oldbury Road, Trinity Place, Alms Houses Railway Lodge, and again Oldbury Road, the only possible link present day as I can see is to the RAILWAY as from present day I see that this is close by. Any comments on this are welcome. Regards. John. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elizabeth Jack" <ejack@gloster.demon.co.uk> To: <gloucester@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 04, 2007 8:38 AM Subject: Re: [GLS] Census place name in TEWKESBURY. > Hi John > > Chance Street is still there - it is a small road off Barton Street in > Tewkesbury. > > You may find something of interest on : > > http://www.ths.freeuk.com/ > > the website for the Tewkesbury Historical Society. > > Best wishes > Liz > > __________________________________ > > Hidden Heritage : www.gloster.demon.co.uk > Researching : BLINKHORNE/BLENKARN/SOSBE > GWINNETT/RANN > PHILPOTT & PURDON only in Ireland > > >> -----Original Message----- >> From: john frawley [mailto:j.frawley@ntlworld.com] >> Sent: 03 March 2007 10:15 >> To: gloucester@rootsweb.com >> Subject: Re: [GLS] Census place name in TEWKESBURY. >> >> Thanks for this Bob, as you suggest it looks like this could be the > answer >> so will follow your suggestions and check out the following page and > also >> take a rain check in Google to see if it is still there and if so the >> details of this, again many thanks. >> Regards.
