Thank you to all who offered suggestions on this subject, most of which I had tried seven years ago when I had discounted the 'myth'. The fact my grandmother's brother (whom she never knew after the age of four) had told his daughter that he had twin sisters, is what has brought the subject up once more. I can arrange for the baptism records to be checked, no problem and I will telephone the Register Office today.
