Hi Geoff, I am puzzled why you think that the CRIDLAND link to LIGHT was a red herring and disappointed that you haven't commented on the FOTHERGILL link, which I gave you. I spent a lot of time yesterday establishing that Emily FOTHERGILL, baptized in 1829 in Pucklechurch, was the Emily CRIDLAND of the 1881 census whom you said was born in Pucklechurch in 1829. As this Emily FOTHERGILL married Isaac LIGHT in 1846 there seemed to be a likely link with the Emily LIGHT whom you you mentioned marrying Thomas CRIDLAND in 1862. 3. Geoff, Emily LIGHT is in the 1861 census of Bristol RG9/1738, folio 105, page 22) and shown as a 32 year old widowed Preparatory School Mistress, born Shortwood. Waht might also prove interesting to you is that there is a will for an Isaac LIGHT, Accountant of St Philip & Jacob, Bristol dated 1854 on the National Archives Documents Online site (www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/) which can be downloaded for £3.50. 3. Janet Thank you for this additional information. I have also shared it with a lady I have come across who is also researching the Cridland line, but who has not had this branch in her tree up to now. The assistance that I have received on and off the board regarding Emily has been considerable and I would like to thank everybody involved. One day I may be able to repay somebody else.
