It's worth noting that any you find recorded as Deerhurst probably lived in Apperley, as Deerhurst was the parish church, Apperley church being a chapel of ease built in late 19th century and even now only licenced for weddings and funerals but not christenings. Although Apperley is much the larger, it is technically a hamlet of Deerhurst.
