All "Of Charfield Gloucester R.O. ref P104 OV 3/1/15 Would someone give me an explanation of an indemnity bond for John Hart and family? What does it mean? I'm not 100% sure of this one - but one explanation might be that when John HART entered Cromhall from Charfield he brought with him a certificate or Bond stating that he had a legal settlement in Charfield and that Charfield would support him (and his family) if he ever he ran into difficulties in Cromhall and that consequently he would not be a liability to the Overseers' of the Poor of Cromhall.
